Janier Co. encourages creativity, community, and wellness for all creatives. We believe in spreading positivity through creativity and do this through our products, services, collaborations, and events that encourage community and networking for creatives.
O U R M I S S I O N
I’m DaJaniere, a multimedia artist from Inkster, Michigan. I created Janier Co. as a way to not only showcase my personal art but to use art, something I love and am passionate about, to bring joy and excitement to others. Being able to teach others through my workshops and invite people of all ages and art experience levels to create together through free community events continues to reiterate the importance of these relaxing, expressive, and collaborative spaces. What started as a side project is transforming into something so much bigger. Artists like myself, and people in general, need exciting, creative places that encourage them to take off their armor if even for just a moment, to connect with others using creativity. Additionally, we need more spaces that encourage collaboration, more communal spaces, and the sharing of information, resources, and opportunities to use our talents for good. Janier Co. believes in spreading positivity through creativity and is becoming more of a hub for artists and locals to explore what creativity is for them and how they can use it, or utilize it, to contribute to their community or for the sake of their own well-being and self-care.
Artist Statement
My intersectional identities as a black woman, artist, sister, daughter, aunt, niece, and American, inspire the work that I create. I use a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, digital, and fiber. Creating these works allow me to find clarity and healing about events/situations happening in the world and in my personal life as well as give me opportunities to express gratitude and celebration for moments in black culture. I hope to create a vulnerable, intimate, and warm space for all art connoisseurs and art admirers to connect with the stories and experiences expressed in my art, on a deeper level.
